PROJECT STATEMENT
United Reming Victims Homeless Association Inc. (URVHAI) is a community from Brgy. Bongalon, Daraga, Albay consists of fifty-six families in need of assistance. It was organized due to the consequences left by the Typhoon Reming in 2006, a tropical cyclone that left heavy damage in the Bicol Region. While the disaster happened years ago, the effect it brought upon the community’s residents continues to live with them. They struggle with issues regarding livelihood, housing construction, and site upgrading. As the families live in a remote location, the lack of proper communication prevents them from getting the assistance they need. Currently, URVHAI is seeking for a development permit and is creating a development plan with the help of organizations such as Technical Assistance Movement for People and Environment Inc. (TAMPEI) and local government personnels in order for the community to be allowed site upgrading and continuously improve their place. One of the community’s projects at the moment is their Road Construction Plan. This is in response to the roadway problems that URVHAI struggles with which prevents accessibility, making it hard for people to reach their area.
