PROJECT STATEMENT

In lieu with the proposal for the SAJUSSA association, the paper focuses on urban gardening and space utilization inside the community. The project aims to present a proposal for the construction of a tower garden system, focusing on solving the problems of flooding and food security in the San Juan Seaside Settlers Association, Inc. (SAJUSSA). Food security is a major issue since the San Juan area is geographically located near the ocean. This is why the proponents proposed building a tower garden system to reduce the amount of space occupied by vegetation and to address the issue of crops being wiped out or dying due to frequent flooding. This project proposal was created for the San Juan Seaside Settlers Association, Inc (SAJUSSA) to use for its own development and implementation. It may also be useful for the public and private sector providers, National Government Organizations, Donors and Civil Society Organization, Local Government Units, Barangay Units, and Community development and Landscape Architecture researchers. This proposal includes the study’s background, objectives, project implementation plan, prototype model, project timeline, and a case study presenting an example of an effective tower garden in Batangas.
