THE PHILIPPINE PAVILION

THEE PHILIPPINE PAVILIOON

Design Parameter: 2021 is a milestone year for the Philippines. The Philippines in recorded history was discovered by the Europeans, headed by Ferdinand Magellan in the year 1521. If it had not been for the pandemic, the country would have marketed 2021 as its half-millennium celebrations.

As a delayed commemoration, our country will be participating in an international event in 2026 which will stand as a world exposition. The event is envisioned to be held in Madrid Spain, which is also nifty as the Philippines was discovered in 1521 under the name of the Spanish government. The Madrid World EXPO will run from June 2026 till April 2027 which means participations to this event will be on exhibit for the duration of at least 10 months but it may be extended.

This second year design class prepared presentations of their take on the Philippine participation to the World EXPO.

Their designs embody the concept – The Philippine Pavilion: Celebrating 500 years of Green Islands! – highlighting the Philippines as a united green archipelago.
